NEW VERSION - How to set up conditions in your survey?

Conditions allow you to display specific question or page based on one or many aswers given previously.

Conditions need to be applied once your questionnaire is all set. Indeed, deleting or moving questions may disrupt the proper functioning of your survey.

It is important to always check your logics and test your questionnaire before sending it to make sure the logics don't cancel themselves or create "loops" within your questionnaire.

Hide/show questions

Conditions allow you to display a question based on a previous given answer.

How to set a condition?

  • Click on the little   next to the question you want to show or hide. You can also click on the three dots next to your question and select "Edit Logical Conditions".
  • Select the question and its answer you want to base your condition on.
  • Select the condition.
  • Select the answer.
  • Click on "Validate".
  • You can add an other condition by clicking on "Add a condition".
  • You can add another group of conditions by clicking on "Add a group".
  • Click on "Preview" to test your condition.

Note : It is not necessary to set show/hide conditions when your questions follow each other in a logical order.

EXAMPLE :

Question 1 : Are you satisfied ? Answers : YES or NO

Question 2 : For which reasons are you unsatisfied ?

In that case, your condition needs to be set on question 2 :

Click on the eye icon on the right of question 2

In the window that popped up, select question 1, then "is equalt to", then "NO"

Question will be hidden if the respondent answers "YES" but will be shown if they answer "NO"

That option allows you to show or hide a page based on one or many answers given to past questions located on previous pages.

Note: Your questionnaire must be at least 2 pages long.

How to do so?

  • Click on the little   next to the page you want to show or hide. You can also click on the three dots next to your page and select "Edit Logical Conditions".
  • Click on "Add a group"
  • Select the question and its answer you want to base your condition on.

  • You can add another group of conditions by clicking on "Add a group".
  • Click on "Preview" to test your condition.

EXAMPLE:

Page 1 - Question 1: Do you know our products? YES / NO

Page 2 - Question 2 : How do you rate our products?

In that case, your conditions need to be set from Page 2.

- From page 2 :

Click on the eye icon on the right of Page 2

In the window that pops up, select question 1, then "is equalt to", then "YES"

Page 2 will be hidden if the respondent answers "NO" but will be shown if they answer "YES"

Delete a condition

In order to delete a condition, click on  to open the settings of your condition. Then, click on the red trash icon located on the right of your condition.

However, if you want to delete a group made of different conditions, click on the three dots on the right of your group and click on "Delete".

Condition that isn't working

Once your condition is set, if it happens that you move a question or page after your condition that is based on them, the following symbol  will appear.

That symbol means that your condition isn't working.

We remind you that it is important to finish setting your whole survey before setting your conditions. Modifying questions (duplicating questions, changing the order of the questions, deleting questions,...) will cause the failure of your conditions.
